Do you mean a new car as would have to be a shogun sport or new to you as don’t think they’ve made a shot n for a couple of years
Sorry you are right, I mean the Shogun Sport, new as in dealer supplied. Am in need of a car as we are turning into a 2 car household. Having my wife have her choice of Minis the last 14 years has paid off as she is now happy for me to pick a car.

The new shogun is this, the shogun sport , I had one for a week on demo. I really liked it. Very comfortable . Excellent off-road. Cheap too

Discontinued now so second hand only.

Ran a 3.2 swb 62 plate to over 140k, no real issues, good solid trucks. However they are not that refined, the last model was face lifted far to many times when it really needed a new variant. They are quite thirsty, unrefined and the handling is no where near class leaders.

That said, they were strong and powerful engines, well built, comfortable and great off road. Always had a soft spot for the swb ones, as a 4x4 runaround they are hard to beat. Owned 3 over the years, a 2.5, 2.8 and 3.2, all fondly remembered. The SWB commercials make strong money in used market as bar the new land cruiser there is nothing else that fills that SWB commercial void.

If it fits your needs and you like it, then I wouldn’t hesitate in buying one.

Edit- I am taking about the proper Shogun, not the L200 based shogun sports

I do apologise.

I did read the thread, new it was a sport but, nevertheless, posted my reply.

My head is now hanging in shame.
No worries, ha ha . Glad you don’t take it as serious as some numpties on here! I had 3 years in a Kong wheel base shogun... hated it but it was massive inside and good off-road
