What's the cost implications of drying firewood logs Blue Power, is it grant aided ?.
Following on from the what's firewood worth thread, I wonder how drying firewood, is financially viable,
Surely buy, process and store wood inside a airy building for approx 18 months, you will have seasoned logs down to approx the magic 20%.
All you then need is value of stored timber,
This is what I have done for have last 30 yr

It's all about the RHI payment and the fact I don't have to have hundreds of tons of cord wood on the yard and sheds full of cut up wood. Most of my sheds on my yard I've got rented out so it doesn't make financial sense to fill them up with logs for years to dry out

Can't help feeling it's a waste of wood to dry wood

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
