What a lovely afternoon, very pleasant in the sun and stuff starting to grow

Put the waders on to clean the end of this out. Needs a length of 6 inch plastic pipe shoving over the end and bringing further into the dyke

how many jobs you got on the go
how do you keep a tally on time,........stop watch or some thing in each tractor cab
Simple, every job gets a job sheet so time on the job is noted and any additional parts/consumables are accounted for. The secretary then tally’s the job up and invoices it. I usually round to the nearest half hour to keep it simple, and have a minimum change for the first hour to cover costs.
I also keep a very comprehensive diary(y) and take photos as they’re time, date and location stamped;)

A neighbour spotted me, and persuaded me to clean a shed out for him while I was at it

He turned his out for a few hours rather then pen them up like I did, and they did look good when the sun came out (all too briefly)

And the dog had a good day chasing mice!

Having such a dull life, after I spent all morning feeding and bedding up of course, returned to the terrible ditch with a spade and did a bit of hand digging.
I actually enjoyed it - 'taking a spit out' as we used to say. By goodness I ache now though - it was easier when I was 25, but how many 25 year olds have dug a ditch out by hand?

I have plenty more to do yet though and discovered today that it may have been a while since anyone else has been in here.

That wheel is over 3 feet in diameter, off an old horse rake or something, maybe I will find the rest and perhaps the horse further up.
