Light land after roots more likelyHave quartered Norfolk over the last few days (busmans holiday) and I thought that the rape in general was looking pretty well, didn’t see many fields with bad areas, unlike quite a few seen on the trip back through the midlands.
There does seem to be a massive amount of spring barley sown though, I wonder how much of this follows a failed OSR crop?

Reason I asked is that potato growing is hard to get into and with the lack of profitable break crops it seems quite tempting from over the hedge....Various reasons really, even with irrigation yields and samples were always disappointing, no shed for storing so had to be sold off the field, growing other things at the time that paid better.
