Digging a deep drain with the 3cx yesterday. It was a late one to fill it in before storm Francis.

Never dug in that sort of stuff.all clay after 9 inches of topsoil or pure sand or hoggin

It can be very stoney in this part of East Down. This area of the farm is probably about as easy digging as you’re likely to get. Just as well as I’m starting to dig for a slatted tank next week, hence the drain to let the water out of the hole.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
