Trying an experiment - one half of the field in continous cereals, the other bit had 3 years grass and one direct drilled spring barley and has just had the top tickled to hide some FYM. Guess which is which

I like to think that I am improving the soil quality - and you know what that is like round here - by growing a grass break and direct drilling as well as FYM, you can watch for yourself if you come past us, turn right and it is the first field on the left after the junction. Just follow your nose.

I'll do some hedge farming when passing :)

Lugged some straw, that didn't take long :hilarious: OH fetched the last load while I let rip

got that done by milking started sowing after

can't help feel its getting too late to grow a decent crop of turnips but they say its getting warmer and its never going to grow in the bag, doubt they will ever catch up with these though

Good drying day and a nice evening may get back on the combine tmrw..

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
