Yikes. I made do with a Marconi moisture meter (every farm should have one, apparently) for a tenner.

I paid £10. It has a lot of gubbins under the rear flap, including a 3pin plug. It works.Happy to help with any repairs or servicing.
Yes I do have refurbs available from time to time.
I’m sure some will ask why are they still popular/in demand.
Simple answer.
They are simply one of the most trusted instruments on the farm and widely used by agents and merchants as a reference. Also Farm Assurance are more likely to trust a Marconi than any other make.
- Rugged (not plastic)
- Reliable- they keep on working and are relatively straightforward to maintain.
- Repeatable - the most important thing, where many other units fail to be consistent, a Marconi meter is very good at solid repeatable measurements. Which surely is what is required and other makes fail to achieve.
Despite their age, they can still be repaired/serviced and are not as expensive as modern makes.
Any questions pls ask. Happy to help.
Very nice, sounds complete too.I paid £10. It has a lot of gubbins under the rear flap, including a 3pin plug. It works.
I'll never use it. Parents of an old school friends farm sale. It's for sentiments.
I didn't see you there - it's not as though there was a massive crowd eitherHad my eye on the trolley jack and anvil but they both made alot more than my pocket could stand
I think alot of the bidding was online ,,folks were busy elsewhere, hell only 90 lots and 50 of them were workshop bits ,don't think I would have bothered if it had been any furthe away.I didn't see you there - it's not as though there was a massive crowd either
I was suprised how much that anvil made too.
