Tough phone

I had a tuff phone for over 3 years and it was OK. Not great but perfectly fine. It didn't support some things like most attachments on emails I had to go on laptop to see them, it wouldn't do zoom meetings if you ever needed to. Was awkward to move pictures roind different files if you needed to as well. Needed more memory it got very slow when it was full even after deleting loads of stuff off it. Camera was OK but not brilliant.
Great backup from the company though I sent it back twice with a problem and they fixed it and sent it back for free both times. Can't fault their service.
Ended up replacing it after the screen fell out and needed sellotape to hold it in place a failing battery (buy in fairness it has and a lot of use in those 3+years) and the low memory. It still works fine though I've kept it as a spare.
I've changed it for a Samsung a12 now though as it was only £150 and will do things the other one wouldn't and has more memory. Not being able to open attachments on email was a pain I'm glad I can do that again. No WiFi calling though.

It probably needed a PDF viewer downloaded from the App Store. :scratchhead:
Yes, Android phones need plenty of on-board storage and 64GB should be a minimum I think, even if it has the facility for micro-SD card storage to supplement it. Certain apps and the operating system must reside in the on-board memory and that can get filled up even though there could be plenty of space on an SD card. Once the on-board memory is clogged up, the phone just has a seizure.
Make sure photos and music and everything that can be, is transferred to the SD card and that the SD then becomes the default location for files belonging to those apps. The apps themselves stay on the main memory for the most part. Sounds more complex than it is in practice.

Remember to back up to Google Drive. Not to the camera brand’s own cloud storage if there is such a thing offered. That way you will not lose anything [apart from the phone itself] when it falls into the hammer mill.

I think it had adobe reader but wouldn't support Microsoft Office. It was more annoying than you would think.

anyone got a Ruggex Rhino V flip phone? Thinking about getting one for dad as he only needs a simple phone for calls and the odd text. Needs to be loud as he's having trouble hearing callers with his newish nokia.

On my second, lost 1st one so replaced with same then found original under tractor wheel🤣 it still works. Simple and basic but does what I need.

Are you Chinese? Why translate an English question to Chinese to answer with a question in English?
interesting question though and I must admit to never before having heard of Doogee phones
I've had a DoogeeS40 for about 14 mths which has survived two duckings (plywood boat didn't survive my size 10'S & cocker pup tripped me up on plank bridge - thankfully both in September :D) plus being dropped many times. Still OK but it is bulky.

I like the idea of a tough phone but it's finding one with decent ram/memory.

On an S8 at the moment that's on its last legs... Cracked Screen bleed growing but functions and does all thats needed so that S8 Spec forwards is what's required.

At the moment it's a A52s on the radar for my own use and I'll add a Moto G30 for business to turn off at 5pm for peace.
I had a CAT B40 arrive today for work... Proper Basic Simpleton thing. There was a cheaper CAT but no Bluetooth and 3G and I want it to connect through the Cars Handsfree and at least 4g

All it needs to do is make calls and the odd text and last.... Don't need Data...

Paid for in Nectar Points... Mickey Mouse Cheap Sim from Asda *Voda* with no Data. and good to go.

EE won't play ball on a price for the A52s so I'll wait a bit longer until the contract is up Mid Feb and port the number.
