Toyota don’t seem concerned about their customers.last March 2018 I knew of four people waiting for hilux pick ups and getting messed about terribly.me included.when buying with nfu etc discount you buy from Toyota and not dealer and have to pay them the full amount before vehicles get released to dealers.the four people i mentioned had paid £120k combined and were kept waiting.the lady sales person at dealer in Norwich got so much grief she left the job.she would never answer the phone or return calls either and just corresponded by txt.a friend was kept waiting for weeks after payment too.just got another and it’s a great improvement this year only paying a couple of days before getting vehicle.they are allways in short supply and if ordered now September woukd be the soonest you would see one.i think lots of car sales people are arrogant too knowing you have appeared to buy a vehicle and they don’t have to work to hard for it either.ive never had what I’d call a good experience with car dealers but it’s just the way it is.

thank you for letting me know i thought it was just me and one of those experiences if i wrote it all down no one have believed me listened in on speaker phone at the dealership and toyota head quarters responses were not only rude but an absolute disgrace i am about to raise a complaint for what good it will do.

As with Nick and the people he mentioned it is not the dealership itself. I went through the CLA and could not fault Tahirah in her efforts to help. The dealership i went through was W R Davies at Stafford park Telford Jackie Richardson did her best but just hit a stone wall when dealing with Toyota uk . Must say was a bit disappointed with them over the fact they charged me £144.00 to change over 4 wheels and tyres that i supplied to them.Did give me a free cuddly toy and 2 plastic key rings though so must not grumble when i only spent just over £24,000 plus vat and they did not make a profit on the deal
I really could not get my head round the mathematics as i run a very small and insignificant business in comparison with there operation but do make more of a profit than that on my operations apparently as they say looks are not everything.

hi new to this forum has anyone actually bought one yet? Ordered one 1st of October 2018 told i would have it second week January then sometime February then in Bri-Stor converting it from active model to commercial should be ready 8th Feb then told out of 17 there being converted and mine been number 13 in the queue it might not be there what?.Then told coming out of bri-stor 2nd batch 8th March should have it week beginning 18th of March guess what still no land cruiser attitude towards me has been terrible if feel like Oliver Twist with my begging bowl please Sir can i have one. Can not get in touch with fleet sales just get answer phone and no call back .Was trying to buy it through my membership with the CLA but they can not do anything either. I went to the dealership near me who started the process and took my £500.00 deposit and they can do nothing either listened on speaker phone when the dealership contacted distribution to ask where it was and was basicly you will get it when you get it !! . If i do not get it and be able to pay for it by 4th of April it will cost me £13,000.00 in tax yes that is the right figure 50% tax am i happy may be not but i think hmrc will be.
Hi Ian I am new to this site but was searching for people that had problems with Toyota. I ordered one in Jan with an agreed px price &delivery in April. It has been delayed until July & now Sept with the dealer not wanting to honour my px anymore. Toyota initially good saying they have tracked the order and its first to be converted but not available until Sept !! The dealer didn't have this information. I then went back to Toyota uk & they said all dealers are franchised & I need speak directly to them. The lady was quite rude to me. The sales lady cannot get any info from Toyota & I'm stuck in the middle with no answers. If I had any hair Id pull it out !! Im having another go at Toyota customer relations today. If you have any advice I would be extremely grateful. Thanks John

The first vehicle was touted around the summer shows in 2018 with a lot of interest from end users
Orders taken which were then unfulfilled by Toyota as there was a delay either here or Japan and some re jigging of the vehicle to comply with UK commercial rulings etc was the reason I was told by my Yorkshire dealer
This has led to a lot of delays and not even a demo being available
I think SWB versions are now coming through and maybe some LWB versions
I have suppressed my interest until they become readily available
Try The Hilux Man - Dave Robertson on FaceBook - he works for a Scottish dealers and seems to be getting them through weekly now

According to a video 'Hilux Tim' has put on YouTube, Toyota are soon (from the autumn?) going to be doing the commercial conversion in-house, rather than out-sourcing. Hopefully that will speed the process up. It looks a better job as well with the mesh bulkhead, etc...

Also going to be able to get the commercial version in 'Active' Spec with auto-box.

Tell them to stuff it where the sun don't shine. There are plenty of alternative brands and dealers.

We tried to buy a Hilux from Toyota Hereford, liked the truck, bit flat but very nice interior. Was initially told that NFU discount no longer applied, kept trying and they eventually accepted that it did. I asked for their cash price, inc the NFU discount as per the spec I had asked for. There was a kerfuffle re the trade in value of my 2012 Navara, last communication with them I asked for the cash price and we would either accept the trade in value of Nissan or sell privately.
Stoney silence from then on.......

Bought a Ranger Wildtrack.... great truck but preferred the hilux interior .
Ps, the demo Hilux they had.... wanted £700 to activate the sat nav.... I was loosing interest at this point
