Tractor Data On Line

Hi

Whilst checking data for potential replacement tractor purchases, I use the on line Tractor Data as a guide, so was wondering how accurate it is for rear linkage capability etc.
Is it accurate or are the numbers just made out?

I have to say I did the same when we got our tractor, we wanted the lightest shortest 6 cylinder of the range, spent ages comparing brands and models

Tractor data is very often NOT accurate, quite possibly due to the many options confusing matters

So is there a more reliable source to help gather some useful data prior to reaching out to sellers?

For example, there are a few adds about for JD 2140 and 3140's that look quite tidy, so looking at rear linkage capacity for example - what would they have as lift guide?

2140 82hp, 3040 92hp and 3140 100hp. all SG2
Photos take from leaflets.
If you want pre SG2 40 series or 50 series I have got them as well.
If that any help.
I’ve got a 2650 2wd SG2 which has gears and forward/reverse between the legs and then high/low up by the hand throttle, never seen any others with the gears there as their usually tennis elbow gearbox’s - would mind by quite rare then?

Nebraska Tractor Test. Only place for unbiased data.

Do not believe manufacturer's claims, and certainly ignore the bonnet Hp numbers. Uk law around this is farcical imo.

Some things to keep in mind is that they measure PTO power rather than engine power, the tractor will also be sat still which usually means no boost.

Take a 240 Puma for example, they claim a max of 228 hp which is perfectly in line with the claimed 240 hp at the engine without boost.

This is why the OECD test stations are the ones to use-They do NOT do as you describe. Many others do....
If boost is available on the tractor, they activate it manually.
the tests aren’t done on a bench.
