On tractors that don't do many annual hours , do you service them annually irrespective of hours done , or wait til manufacturers recommended hourly service interval which could take 18 months or more?
Myself I do annually no matter the hours .

Engine oil yes.

Transmission once every 2 years or even more

I’ve never understood that. The oil that’s in there is literally millions of years old. What difference is a few months going to make? It doesn’t go off in the can, so why would it in the engine?

Moisture absorption? Starting to breakdown as soon as it goes through a few heat cycles.

Tractor gets serviced annually by the dealer, small service one year, larger the next depending on the hours. Most used implements I service every year through the winter, try to not have any downtime with them during the summer so try and catch any problems through the winter when I've got time to fix them. The less used ones I try every year too but happy to leave them longer up to 2 years if I don't have the time. These ones I don't mind downtime on them as they're usually only used the odd days. Obviously also depends on how they run through the season.

All our tractors are serviced every 500hrs , The ones that dont do that many hrs still get serviced once a year . We have just brought our first tractor with a five year warranty and service package .
