You can fix JD s cheaper now as well , Qpt tractor parts are selling a lot of engine kits for JD 30 series , the rep was telling me over the weekend , he also sells the JD door glass for £ 50 to the dealers , do they mark it up much .

Your 100% right , I refuse to buy a machine with a crap engine .
You're prepared to lower yourself to talk about them though ;)
Funny thing about these Fendt engine problems is, just like Deere head gaskets and porous Fords. Owners and operators of competitive makes always seem to have more to say than the owners of the actual machines :scratchhead:
Who knows though maybe AGCO will decide they want a REALLY good engine and start fitting FPT to everything

A lot of owners don't want people to know that their expensive tractor gave expensive trouble .

Might be some truth in that, but I don't know about where you are but round here it's kinda hard to keep secrets like that, so you're as well not to bother
Some owners may also just accept that all brands have issues at some point and that it's the aftersales service from the manufacturer and dealer that really count
This is something that Deere and Claas seem to be especially good at

it doesn't help when they know your number and don't answer in service so you have to go through sales to get there and block your number:)

I own one that was replaced, my brother in law the same. Is that enough owner testimony for you

Blimey JD must be quaking in their boots because they are only 2960 units ahead of Fendt.....with a 30%+ market share against 5.7%
Interestingly the market has dropped by around 10%.........JD sales have fallen by 8.5% and Fendt have dropped by 15%.
In contrast Kubota have achieved sales growth of close to 28%., so watch this space.
In all honesty Fendt will always be a "Premium Brand" as you call it, but I will be surprised if they ever achieve more than 10 or 12%, because its not in their interest. The law of supply and demand says that as more second hand of a particular brand comes onto the market that resale values will fall.......then the "attraction" of buying something that is a premium price over its main stream competitors becomes less attractive, and unjustifiable.
We all know jd have the lions share, but the tide is shifting a little, Dealerships are being put under enormous pressure to keep sales up to a curtain level, I dont think its sustainable, Its nice to see other brands about anyway.;)
