I had to turn Compost windrows with a old 240 Komatsu with no ac .Red hot in summer and working in a cloud of fog in winter .The boss got me one of those helmets with a fan and filter on the end of a pipe .Would have been better with a bat on a bit of string than sat there looking like Buzz lightyear trying to find somewhere to hang the filter box somewhere out of the way.I was a bit worried over the AC filters on a new Volvo L70 when i finally got a new machine about the compost breeding nasty things in the system .But i never got a answer over my concern off anyone over it.
The lads up on the tip had AC filters coming in to bury as special waste from Hospitals etc which required a S62 off the EA !.

Used to drive a 188 on the forager with the steel clad cab,left hand door was off that all summer.

We used have a Landini 8000 series on the forager back in the day and as a chap in shorts I well remember the heat rising off the backend. Front window did open and the side windows were forever falling out of it with the flimsy aluminium strips used to secure them so were usually left out in the summer months and overall the cab wasn't the worst in hot weather. It was also the noisest gearbox I ever heard, the roars off it in certain gears were deafening. It's gone out of here for the last 23 years and I can still remember what 3rd high sounded like.

See on site 360 drivers with windows open, often have to talk the ground staff with digging and excavations, drivers and cab often get covered in dust,

The way ACs cause a cold is by setting it to too low of a temperature and then have it blow towards you...

I dread to think how farmers off 60s coped in the weather cabs fitted back then plastic windows and metal, that would been greenhouse atmosphere

I can remember the council gang mowing the park behind our house with a MF135 with one of those canvas cabs with plastic windows.The windows always looked milky it must have been a PITA on a day that made windows steam up
