A GRAND PARADE OF TRACTORS
The Scottish Borders farming community is set to get its big wheels turning for charity.
A Grand Parade of Tractors will take place on Sunday 5th November, and organisers hope that the spectacle will raise funds for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation for research into Motor Neuron Disease (MND) and give a very visual show of support for those affected by MND in the community.
Organisers are calling for farmers, tractor drivers and enthusiasts from all over the Borders, and beyond, to register and bring their tractors along to Thirlestane Castle, Lauder on the morning of 5th November. A Grand Parade of tractors will then leave from the castle grounds and follow a short, specially planned route around Lauderdale.
In May 2017, a road run organised by local vintage enthusiasts saw 25 tractor drivers raise over £1000 for MND research. The Grand Parade aims to grow on the success of that event by appealing to all tractor owners and drivers to take part, with all makes, models and ages of tractors welcome. from pristine vintage examples to 1990’s classics right up to high-horsepower modern workhorses and everything in between.
Thought @Speedstar @Hilly and anyone else Borders based (or nearish) might be interested!
Cheers
