Trailer Floor- Steel thickness

Got a project to fix up a mono trailer I bought. Needs a new floor and a few cross members sorted.

What thickness of steel should I use for the floor. It will be used for muck and possibly grain.

Old floor will need cut out completely to do a tidy job I think.

Older grain trailers would only have been 4 mm from new but nowadays 5 or 6 mm would be common for muck 5mm would be plenty but if you are going to use for stone then go thicker but anything above 8mm is in dump trailer category

Its an old Warwick root trailer. Will be used for cattle fym. Its not going to be sitting loaded with wet sloppy sh1te.

At a guess the cross bearers are about 500mm appart but not measured it. I will get some 5 or 6mm sheets for it I think.

Will post a pic of it later.

Bearers are further apart than I remembered. Approx 1m.
