I have only ever had excellent dealings with the Nottingham branch of NFU, but then i am a great believer in you get what you pay for. And having had a very complicated claim years ago that was handled very profesionaly handled i do stick with them for the Land Rover and tractor insurance. I do think an awful lot depends on the local office staff though i have friends who have almost been fleeced by them.

Leyland Daf 130 here at 19yrs old was £96/year through local office, the bod I spoke to questioned if match ploughing was a competitive sport, to which I stated it was, his answer was that they would not be able to cover me as they dont cover vehicles that compete. I spoke to the chap I normally deal with and it was sorted within 5 mins after he'd stopped laughing at the poor young lad who didn't know what match ploughing was. Not sure what it covers me for, domestic/pleasure etc, not bothered to read the docs yet.
