I know that but it would be better if the trailer had proper brakes put less strain on towing vehicle it would be a improvement. Bit like grey fergie and horse did the job but now you got big tractors and quad bikes

But they do the job very well, when kept/serviced properly.


Plus, every car/4x4/van manufacturer would have to fit hydraulic powered brakes to their vehicles just on the off chance the owner might want to tow a trailer at some point...
That'll add ££££ to every car

Hydraulic powered brakes used to be an option on Defenders - that allowed you to tow upto 4t.

My 110 has factory fitted air brake lines. Left them connected for a while so I could pretend I had a turbo blowoff valve whenever I tapped the brake pedal, but eventually pulled the fuse on the compressor as the noise novelty wore off. Bought it second hand and was originally a National Grid 'Land Train'.
