Claas will outlast the JD going from a good friends experience of JD he's onto his second set of claas now as the 8400 he had was so good he's running 9200 now

We ran a set of 950 deeres last season went ok but In fresher shorter stuff had bother with stuff building up in front of the bed they tried changing a few things none of which made much difference so need to see what they come up with for next season! Apart from that there decent enough built

Not what you asked, but have the Pottinger V10 and am quite happy, was cheaper than the Claas 9200 at the time (2 years ago), but Pottinger dealer was being very aggressive with pricing. With the 3.5m front.

Thanks lads.i would prefer the Claas but the deere price is very good.they should be ok?.anyone have opinion on the sliding in and out hydraulic overlap adjustments

Claas just have enough overlap to compensate when running as front and back then there's another set of oin holes you can use if thrt were reverse drive

My mate is cutting roughly 6000 acres a year in everything from dead level to some very steep stuff and they're fine but obviously you're not cutting 9.2m

All the steel needed for variable width will add a lot more weight to the job

I hate that when a mower can't cut clean in a nice standing light crop. Have you any suggestions which tripples leave the cleanest cut? I saw a set of kverneland 5087s doing a nice job but maybe it was just good conditions

Hi dusty.would you recommend the john deere r950 r.what kind of power would ya need to be comfortable with them.?im stuck between Claas 9200 and john deere.was going 870r.but told 950r is the only way to get output.

To be fair they did work away fine was just getting a few issues later in the year with short wet stuff but they were making changes trying to resolve it. We ran the 950,s on a 724 fendt with no issues getting decent output. I was thinking the same about the width decision but glad we went with the wider ones didn't notice a difference to drive compared to our 388,s. You do need to be very wary of the height on the road though they can have a few issues with trees! I would like to see how claas perform as well right enough. Think the deeres seem a bit cheaper though. I'd price Kuhn as well just to see the difference

Fella I work for got jd 950s. They were cheaper and needed a lot less hp than class but there absolutely huge on the road and no side shift to get round trees on lanes etc. If it wasn't for the power required class was def pick of the bunch. Glad you enjoy yours ?

I do not think the hp requirement is any more in the claas.we would have a lot heavier cuts in ireland and I can go away at 10 to 14 k with only 260 hp.john deere is over 3 ton in weight and claas is only 2.4.found also new John deere front mower is long way out.
