I know some farms are very bad for it I guess were fortunate in not having a problem like that
It appears to vary a bit every year. Some years are worse than others. One of the young vets was willing to do a test on various products to see what worked the best as far as clearing it out of them but one of his senior colleagues thought it was more bother than it was worth.I know some farms are very bad for it I guess were fortunate in not having a problem like that
@neilo I hope you have your PMSG already in the fridge. Two 7500iu vials of Stimovar just set me back 165 quid (inc vat) after pay on the day discount from my vet.
Vet has been in touch, they can import Fascionix 34%, a Dutch Trodax/nitroxynil equivalent, slightly more expensive than Trodax but probably because it’s only available in 100ml bottles, ewes will get their winter jab after all
Green stained everything will make a nice difference to yellowI was asking my rep. about this a couple weeks ago and they are looking to import this, too.
It is Trodax, by another name - which we knew/suspected anyway. Seemingly Trodax has only been withdrawn in UK (hence you can still get this product abroad).
Excellent for dispatching a ewe too if you're competent at getting it in a vain, or that's what they tell me anyway, I wouldn't know about such things.Local dog poisoner will be distraught, trodax was his weapon of choice.
Be careful purchasing medicines that are not licensed for use in the UK!!The same active ingredient, at the same strength is marketed by Kepro in Holland:

Wonder if it’s just rebranded Trodax?

I was jagging ewes again with fascionix today and noticed on the translated info sheet that comes with it, that at the standard rate of 1ml/35kg it kills adult fluke, but also claims that an increased dose of 1.25ml/35kg also kills immature fluke in cases of acute disease. I don’t remember that on trodax? For your information….
The local vet got me 2.5L of Fascionix no problem, slightly more expensive than Trodax ( although cheaper than some of the online prices I saw for Trodax before), probably as it’s only available in 250ml individual glass bottles.
Dose rate is the same, the stuff is still red, and still stains everything yellow, but on the plus side the stopper on the bottle makes a good seal and doesn’t leak all over the pace…..still managed to come back in today looking like I had severe jaundice tho
