Twin lamb risk

I have a ewe that could be susceptible to twin lamb. She’s only got a few days to go before she’s due. Can I give her some twin lamb solution to keep her right? Not showing any signs but just worried. Thought I’d I could keep her balanced before any problems it would help?

She has access to molassed lick and is getting cake too. She’s just skinny. Looked like condition had improved for tupping but dropped off her now. I’ve also seen her pushing the past couple of days so watching in case of prolapse. Not sure if lambs are making her uncomfortable and she’s just trying to sort them out. Thought about giving her a daily dose to keep her minerals up.

Make sure she can get enough to eat in a separate pen if necessary and OK to give some solution too to prevent a rise in ketones. Prevention always better

Loss of condition means her colostrum will likely be poor. Do you have some on hand? Once the lambs have a few good sucks, I would get 50ml in them just to be sure. Let them suck first and settle for a while so nobody gets confused about how things work. She will likely need a good drink of water after lambing, her general reserves are low. A newly lambed ewe will drink a surprising amount of water.

Sometimes in this situation my spidey sense tells me to give her a jag of (warm) calmag also. Watch her eyes, is she blinking a bit too much?

I’ve watched her and no, she’s not blinking excessively. Laying down a lot but then they all do! Looks a little tottery. Making sure she gets extra cake although not sure how much goes to her and how much to the lamb at this stage. I’ve given her a dose of the twin lamb and will monitor as suggested. Thank you.
