Underground diesel tank

Not sure where to put this but can we do this at farm level or is it just petrol stations?

if so anyone point me in the right direction please.

You might find the tanker driver will refuse to fill an underground tank as there are different regs.

Our tank for the house I put in a deep bund which one or two drivers said they could not fill if the top was covered .

not sure..... somewhere between 10-25,000l depending on cost. Guessing it doesn’t cost that much more to go a bit bigger.

Double skin tank to go in? Air monitored?

Ground conditions will affect cost, high water table?

About 100 gal.

Why underground?

You can only store 30L at home legally I think. I use about 40L per month in lawn mowers / chainsaws / strimmers. Fed up with the faff of back and forth to petrol stations with jerry cans.

I'm sure you can legally store larger quantities of petrol in above ground tanks, no?

not for a filling station just for farm use. Not a clue whatever is required by law I guess. Would have to be double skinned wouldn’t it?

handy to be able to fill up when prices are favourable. Our contractors have a serious diesel addiction too! Easily clear 6000l with a couple hundred acres of silage, tillage and hymac work ..... and that was just one week

space more than anything. I’ve aperfect location for a workshop and I don’t want to loose half of it to a diesel tank.
