Does anyone remember the contents of the wooden crate that came with these tractors new in say 1972-3? Spanners, air pump,oil pump, grease gun, spare bulbs, injectors, piston etc. Even a little black plastic tyre pressure gauge in a green pvc cover, 12 volt inspection lamp with a long cable. Things one remembers as a kid. The dealer had taken a lot of stuff out of the box, but had forgot the paper sheet with the list of contents! Dad insisted they should be his!

Yeah, only went to see the Universal sell. Nothing else interested me.
Didn't really go to buy it but you don't often see them come up.
Needs a service / water pump is goosed and just a general going over

Exactly, I learnt pretty early on I never go to a farm sale without the trailer. You just never know.

Well she runs - really well.
Water pump is knackered, screeching like hell. I think the filters were last changed in 1972. One front wheel bearing is shot. Small leak from one of the radiator pipes.
That's all I can see for now. She needs a good steam clean which I was going to do today but its peeing it down here so lighting fire and having a day inside.

That's the box, will go and have a look at the one here, never moved since the tractor arrived in 1973.? In the corner of an old shed on top of a barn thrasher. Be interesting to see if there's anything still inside!
Tractor here was a 445 dt? 4 Wheel drive, steering it seemed hard work at 9 ,10 years old, compared to the David Brown's.

Or just call in as you're passing, make one casual bid and then work out how to get a trailed sprayer home.

Got some of the bits in this one - not all that you mentioned though. The box and contents came with this Universal which was a U445.
The other U445 we bought in 1976 I presume the box got chucked - tractors still here though.
If there is bits inside John and you want to sell it please get in touch,

Steering mine is still hard work especially in 4WD reverse! Power steering only seems to work going forward.
Got a 640 dtc sd 4wd for saleEvening guys,
After a Universal 640 dtc. Hours not important - condition is. Has to be very good original condition. Not so bothered about location for the right one.
Anyone know of one or got one?
