Hello, at about this time last year I was watching TV and stubbled upon a programme where two men learnt to plough. They practised then they were at a show and had a go at doing a section. They ended up showing that it isn't as easy as it looks to stay straight etc. I think it might have gone into the history if ploughing too, not sure. I can't find it anywhere through googling so am hoping someone else has seen it in the community. I don't remember much else I'm afraid. Thank you!

I have a Massey Ferguson I inherited from my dad and have driven it around the ring at a steam rally but have not ploughed or cultivated with it. I'd like to learn to use the cultivator at least as that's the one I currently have attached ? I was interested in rewatching this programme so if anyone has any idea what it is that would be grand.

Thanks.
Kathryn

Hi Kathryn, I think that there might have been an episode of 'Wartime farm' where they learnt to plough...

That would be Find it Fix it Drive it with Henry Cole and Sam Lovegrove. They did up a Ferguson tractor and plough and then went ploughing at Stratford on Avon in a Banbury vintage club match.
They had no skimmers on the plough and I have seen pigs make a better job.
This is not good viewing if you want to learn to plough. Go along to a local ploughing match and have a good look and ask the ploughmen. Most will be only too pleased to help.
