I have just seen traveling on road a 5/6 ton excavator on trailer with no securing chains or straps... it is rubber tracks on timber floor so not metal on metal but still a bit risky or is there no problem

legally you need 3 chains/straps for a digger 2 through the track frame and one over the boom.

That said you would be having a hell of a bad day for a rubber tracked machine to come off a wooden decked low loader...

Not that id ever risk that officer
