Valtra air compressor problem

Bought a new to me Valtra T132 the air compressor is wet with oil around it and I don’t think it’s pumping where should I start? I haven’t investigate yet I said I’d ask here and then investigate tomorrow. Tia

Had an electric compressor like that and it was the head gasket blown through. I cut one from card and put back together and been fine since

Is this an engine driven compressor? It’s not unusual for the front oil seal to fail and cover the whole place in oil, there should be a rebuild kit available for your compressor as they are usually all made by wabco

Thanks folks we have it sorted the head gasket was blown on the compressor I made one out of gasket paper until I get one ordered!!

I’m sure it will be branded fake news!!! Let’s hope that is the only trouble it gives me!! I have only done one hour with it yet!! Still prefer the John Deere to drive!!

I have to say I’ve never had to replace a head gasket on a John Deere without cause like when fan belt broke and it boiled while Agitating slurry. Do usually change them at 10000hrs just to get a look at engine condition though. Have 1 with clock stopped at 15000 hours 4 years ago and still works front line so probably over20000 hours at this stage and it is as tight as a 5000 hour tractor
