VF tractor tyres

Them tyres are mach x bibs. They arent a good wearing tyre. In general michelin arent a good wearing tyre on the road which is a bit of a bummer as theyr so expensive. A trelleborg or a vredestien would wear alot better.

They were on mf tractors , what size are they and what Tyres are they for the 10th time
We have not got to forget he bought that tractor cheap ,more than likely on the wrong rims and wrong Tyres but you know it was cheap
so valtra are sending tractors out from the factory on the wrong tyres and rims , you say cheap, I thought that Michelin tyres were not a cheap tyre. Wrong rims wrong tyres , that’s why they wore , so your still trying to say that it’s my fault that the tyres wore. How stupid are you .

If you don't tell people what type of tyre they are how do you expect an honest opinion?
Where did I look for any opinion , all I’m saying is this is how quick these great Michelin tyres wore , and as somebody else here has the same tyre wear on a fendt at 2600 hours , so it’s not just mine , I bought the tractor in good faith with Michelin tyres on it and they have been the worst wearing tyre I’ve ever seen. I’ll never buy another Michelin. I have cheap ling long Brand tyres on the fast track doing far more road work and they are only half worn .

Thought this was interesting. Two demo tractors, the Valtra on Trelleborg tm1010 710/38(?) VF vs Michelin 650/38 not VF. Saw this and got the tape measure out. Michelin actually 600mm across the lugs not 650 as advertised. Trelleborg 720mm, so more than the 710 on the side. Both 6.5t tractors with a full tank, the Valtra on those tyres can take 4t on the rear linkage at 8psi....at 60kph. (Probably last about 2000hrs mind if you don't pump them up on the road?)

The width measurement is the section width measurement from outside of each sidewall. Changed a set of kleber 650/85r38 s to Michelin axiobibs, the Michelin’s are wider by sidewall section width on paper but the tread width is a fair bit narrower.

What’s a load of bull, as you can see the tyre is bald at 2300 hrs . There was never a front weight on it . Tyre pressure is as the dealer delivered it to me and I’ve had them check it since
No front weight could be one of your problems. All tyres are designed to carry a given weight at a given pressure. Go outside those design limits and your tyres won't last as long.

Weve just taken delivery of a fastrac 4220 on TM1000 vf.

Hoping being able to run them low will make up for the slightly limited tyre size for a 200+hp tractor.

I agree, for a tractor that everyone says you need to run at the right pressures to get the most out of it you would think central tyre inflation would be standard equipment along with a better choice of tyre sizes. Seems that most tyres are good for 60km/h.

I've the same tyres on JD and 4000hrs and they'll be half worn.

I know someone that was told by the Michelin man that he didn't have enough weight on hence getting excessive wear sounds daft to me tho

Out of interest, does your JD spend most of it's time in the field?
They are a great heavy traction field tyre, but I think Michelin made a mistake claiming that they could also be used for general farm haulage and upping their speed rating.

All this talk of not enough weight sounds a bit suspect to me. I’d say it’s far more likely the tracking is a mile out to scrub them out that quick.

50 50 it's mostly spread fert which involves a fair bit of road the farm is spread out 8 miles from end to end running with 500kgs on front linkage with 3t spreader

Then baleing mowing and trailer work it's done very little draught work first 2 yrs it did all the drilling buy I'd definitely say 50 50 road and field

Really? look at the pic James posted earlier there's no wear on the shoulders on the tyre so either needs pressure dropping or/and some weight on it

That’s what they are , so are you saying that these tyres are only suitable for tillage work, so they don’t suit a mix of road and field work. They are 600/65/28.
That what they were designed as, a ploughing tyre.
This Michelin's bumf for them.
MICHELIN MACHXBIB
  • FUEL SAVING
  • ROBUSTNESS
Versatility
Increased load capacity in the field

Maximum productivity when ploughing
Maximum productivity when ploughing. Powerful tractors are frequently used to effectively plough larger farms. Operating at low pressure with a larger footprint than a conventional tractor tyre, the MICHELIN MachXBib is specially designed to allow powerful tractors to fully transmit their engine torque.
Optimize your ploughing productivity and reduce soil compaction, even with heavy loads. Designed for high HP tractors and heavy tillage.

Soil protection even under heavy loads
Soil protection even under heavy loads
Because it significantly reduces rut depth and soil compaction, the MICHELIN MachXBib is especially gentle on fields during heavy work such as ploughing, cultivation and decompacting. This helps protect the farm’s yield potential.

I will agree with you that your issue is with Michelin and it is partly there fault, also Valtra's fault, the dealer's fault and unfortunately slightly caveat emptor.
Michelin were missing a good all round road and field tyre in these sizes and hp class, the now have Aiobibs, so they played down the ploughing aspect of the Machxbib and said it would "do" as an all rounder. They need their pressure changed for every different job and IMHO are not a road tyre.
