VF tractor tyres

The Michelin’s that came on my new valtra t254 are as soft as butter , never before have I seen tyres wear as quick. For me to use Michelin again I would need to get them free , any cheap brand will last longer. They are a disgrace , my advice to anyone buying a new tractor is to make sure it does not come with Michelin’s on it.View attachment 924590
Looks like a Multibib to me, am I right?
So you got a tyre rated for 80-200hp fitted to a tractor that is supposed to be 271hp, probably way over loaded the tyres as well, and it is Michelins fault.
A tractor of that weight and power should be on Axiobib 2, or Machxbibs.

I bought the tractor new with factory fitted tyres , so don’t blame me if valtra put on the wrong tyres , you say we probably over loaded it , the tractor has never had front weights on anything else on the front linkage . So how did we over load it. If the tractor should have been on Axiobibs or any other bibs do you not think that the experts in Agco/ valtra should know this.

Fair enough, but still not Michelin's fault.
A lot of manufacturers are send out high powered and heavy tractors on standard 65065r42 and 54065r30 that are not rated for either the hp or weight of the tractors or loads involved, and often on too narrow a rim. The user then has to have these tyres over inflated to carry the loads and along with the narrow rim the tyre ends up wearing unevenly like yours, also a lot of tractor dealers are less than careful during the PDI to check the tracking of the front wheels.
A few things to take into account before blaming Michelin

Weve just taken delivery of a fastrac 4220 on TM1000 vf.

Hoping being able to run them low will make up for the slightly limited tyre size for a 200+hp tractor.

Tyres are 710s on the back and 600 on the front so that’s your theory gone , also when I noticed the tyres on the front wearing too fast I got the dealer to check everything out and everything was as is recommended . The problem is the tyres are too sort and wear too fast.

what a load of bull , We did a lot of work with Michelin on the VT Tyres long before they were ever sold , ours were prototype tyres & after 8000 hours & lots of road work the tyres were still 40% , they need to be ran at the right pressure for the job they are doing & by the looks of your ones you need to buy a tyre pressure gauge , What size are you tyres 600-60-30 & 710-60-42 ?

Probably Xeobibs then?
They are a great tyre in my view, I am getting good wear out of mine, but I presume even the best tyres can have a few bad apples. I think there are a few others on here have gotten on very well with them.

What’s a load of bull, as you can see the tyre is bald at 2300 hrs . There was never a front weight on it . Tyre pressure is as the dealer delivered it to me and I’ve had them check it since

Thought this was interesting. Two demo tractors, the Valtra on Trelleborg tm1010 710/38(?) VF vs Michelin 650/38 not VF. Saw this and got the tape measure out. Michelin actually 600mm across the lugs not 650 as advertised. Trelleborg 720mm, so more than the 710 on the side. Both 6.5t tractors with a full tank, the Valtra on those tyres can take 4t on the rear linkage at 8psi....at 60kph. (Probably last about 2000hrs mind if you don't pump them up on the road?)

I have no experience with Machxbib, they used always be advertised as a specialist high power, high traction ploughing tyre.
Why go for a ploughing tyre?

What pressure should they be .

They look like they have been over inflated for the weight they carry because they have worn more in the center than the edge.

However 600 xeobibs should be on 20" wide rims and I suspect they are on the same rims that usually take 540's
