Well the cars were sold as very green and a very low road fund licence, but they are more dirty and incurring a bigger charge ,plus the fact the sellers (vw) misrepresented their product ,a bit like farmers selling top quality wheat and the buyer saying no its not ,knock something off the priceWhy do the owners need compensated?
No, they wont talk to you, its the solicitors getting numbers together to have some clout and get what was paid out to customers in the USA, similar thing now with Mercedes. Can you not go to vw direct and cut out the middle man from taking a slice of the pie?
Nothing to loseWorth a punt then ?
Who did you use for the claim if you rather pm that’s fineYes we are in for 2 vehicles that were 12 plates. It’s still ongoing but basically it’s been admitted what happened was wrong but they are just going through the motions.
I had a 15 plate Amarok so I’m now wondering if that could be added to it?
The best case scenario is about 50% of the cost back we’ve been told after the solicitors taking their cut.

If you were happy with the car before this arose why stake a claim just to feed these ambulance chasers? Is anyone else involved in the claim for Scotland? There's a settlement offer on the table but it's closer to £1k than 2. I understand the English settlement was for over £2k, but may be wrong. 20% to go to the crowd that bankrolled the claim, with legal expenses being settled separately. These 2 firms will probably do very well, but it has to be said that we'd likely get nothing without them.
Should we just give them the nod and be happy?
You make a good point. In my case the car was bought a handful of weeks before the scandal broke, so was de-valued very quickly. It has been far from faultless, so I don't feel guilty taking a draw of cash off vw.If you were happy with the car before this arose why stake a claim just to feed these ambulance chasers?
It was a software issue, allowing the car to recognise a test and cut emissions accordingly.Well the cars were sold as very green and a very low road fund licence, but they are more dirty and incurring a bigger charge ,plus the fact the sellers (vw) misrepresented their product ,a bit like farmers selling top quality wheat and the buyer saying no its not ,knock something off the price
