here you go ! about to press the button on setting these live ( this evening is the plan) , there is a far bigger distribution area and that will b extended to national within the next 10 days

Prices will vary up and down as stock levels run up / down, DON'T use marketplace prices as a stick to beat up existing suppliers as liek a seat on easy jet the price or stock may not be there next time you check in !

There are qty discounts hence the 'prices from" but you don't need huge amounts to access best prices and I'm sure everyone can understand the economies of delivering 1 can vs several cans that do exist

Alphacypermethrin (1ltr) – from £17.54 a ltr

Difenoconazole (1ltr) – from £27.35 a ltr

Metazachlor and Quinmerac (5ltr) – from £21.27 a ltr

Iodosulfuron-Methyl-Sodium (2kg) – from £77.45 a Kg

Clomazone 360 (1ltr) – from £51.85 a Ltr

Glyphosate 360 (20ltr) – from £1.82 a ltr

Clethodim (5ltr) – from £19.12 a ltr

Metazachlor (10ltr) – from £10.59 a ltr

To see the products on www.marketplace.farm you will need to be a registered user and have added holding number etc to become a verified farmers as is only sensible for such restricted use product

when live these products can be bought here https://www.marketplace.farm/farm-marketplace-chemicals/ and you will see the actual brands and product data sheets / lables rather than just the active ingredient list above

I reckon those prices are pretty dam hot ? certainly lower that I've been buying at and below any buying group price that I'm aware of right now ?

@Clive i'm sorry if this sounds negative but the products listed are predominately for OSR. In my case the purchasing and application has already been made. To be really useful I need cereal pre emergence products pricing now. Sorry to be be blunt but at the moment you are behind the curve.

We have and you're right in many respects, I've said that before. I'm just speaking as (obviously) a supplier and also for farmers who like to stay loyal if they are treated accordingly.

It is long overdue in many respects. I'm not trying to steal anybody's thunder, but we used to watch The Apprentice a few years back and I remarked to my wife that if I won it I would set up a similar business. There you go, I'm streets ahead of you!! :D:D
I just don't have the knowledge or inclination to expand on my minds brilliant foresight!

You know full well why I'm narked with you Clive and it's not this undoubtedly great idea.

Pete - i make no excuse, I buy on price / value, simple as that. Always have and always will do and wouldn't be in business today if I didn't do so

Fair point @Clive the prices you have posted are cheaper than i bought at. My costs were clomazone £62/L, Metazachlor £11.70/L and Difenoconazole £28/L

Just trying to make the point that i'm already securing quotes and will be ordering pre-em cereal products imminently.

PS Is it possible to get suppliers to quote MAPP numbers with products, it sometimes makes a difference as to what the label says.

Remember this is no flash in the pan ! We are trying to build the foundations of a facility that will be the future of input purchase. It's barely just over a month old now and we have achieved a lot. Even if stuff does end up late for this year I hope you see the prices this can achieve and buy there next time you're in the market

We haven't scratched the surface yet of what I intend this to be, Rome wasn't built in a day but progress hasn't been bad considering some of the challanges so far (and harvest kind of getting in the way)

Really MAPP numbers - yes they will be on all product descriptions going forward

I have been concious that time would pass for this autumn if suppliers didn't get on with it so have been pushing hard to make thing happen as fast as they can, the limitations have been supplier / political rather than down to us mostly

Isn't that using tiff stick to beat your suppliers down a bit like you've told us not to ?

Clive, you probably know this but, tufnells for sending any thing bulky. No one comes close to them. We send odd size parcels. So offer get charged extra after we have sent them.

No - not at all, remember the deals on marketplace are directly between farmer and vendor. Just like a buying group which is something TFF members have been asking for sinse TFF began we leverage our combined buying power to get offered good deals

All we are doing is providing access to that online without membership fee or commitment and with much lower admin costs meaning the end users price is lower

As a farmer this is very much in our interests - buying elsewhere is now knowingly spending more

Vendors organise their own delivery - in most cases s via their own fleet, there is a hazchem parcel / pallet network but from what I'm told most chemical distributors prefer to deliver directly other than for Rd small qty in remote locations etc

All it needs now is for a TFF member to buy a boat load of fert and list it up....!

(sorry, just brought back memories of earlier topics!)

Can you go to a manufacturer like rosate or asteroid to buy glysophate off them. It's out of patent and has been for some time. Cheap as to produce considering the amount used world wide yearly.

other than enough for my own farm I don't want to buy any chemical ! I'm not a distributor / chemical trader and have no ambition to become one

Like a buying group trading / distributing is not what Marketplace does, just like a buying group it simply negotiates good deals and then puts buyer and seller in touch to deal direct. it does that bit at much lower cost however resulting in lower end prices

using Farm Marketplace as a platform its then perfectly feasible that anyone who can buy the products you mention or indeed the manufacturer themselves direct can then sell those products and many others like them - maybe there is a business opportunity right there for a TF member who has some connections !

For generic products are you 100% they are genuine and not fake crap which is getting on the market?

all have MAPP numbers and are branded

Its as safe from buying from any buying group / distributer from that point of view, same products, same vendors, same level of come back if there are any issues, just a new buying platform

I've heard some of the buying groups and vendors ending up with counterfit stuff

Well if that's the case, someone on Chem price tracker has a quote for Fence (exactly same as macho as far as I am aware) at £255/ can. That's £25 under your price!

its happens for sure, as you say no distributor or buying group is immune to it. Marketplace is no more vulnerable however, as I say, same products, same vendors, juts new lower overhead platform
