Walkers- Coronavirus

Loads of them but not had any issues and never felt so popular ;)
People genuinely seem pleased to see someone else as they go past with big friendly waves in acknowledgment of us all being in the same boat kind of way as they go past.
Some stop to look at the cattle in the open sided shed but nobody hangs around for long, quick chat at a distance and they are on their way.

We as farmers are lucky to have a farm to go and work on and self isolate. Can’t be much fun being cooped up with nowhere to go all day.
Maybe those up here are better educated having had 15 years of right to roam laws and core paths but so long as they are not raking about in my buildings i have no issue with current situation.

Ive got more of an issue with the 3 loads of wheat that went away today still needing me to fill out a passport to give to the driver to fill out his bit and give to the end user at the other end. What’s that all about?
Loads of emails from assurance schemes saying they are stopping on farm assessments to protect their staff but not a cheap about this:(

I think it's great, hopefully they'll appreciate the place they live in a bit more, and collect some litter at the same time.

I cant see what harm it does going for a walk , if that take 2 to 4 hrs what harm is there in that? the government has said don't make unnecessary journeys by car that is fair enough so if people are traveling from county to county that is wrong But groups from the same household are allowed to walk together . lots of old railway lines and canal towpaths will be very busy walking further afield to spread the load on the rights of way so to speak seems a sensible idea .
There are always exceptions to a rule but from my observations most people are being very good,

Its ok if you have a few hundred acres of self isolation to your self and a job you can carry on with to keep you occupied , but put yourself in someones else's shoes and consider how you would feel , no work , stay in your house only, assume you dont have the space you do. YOU WOULD WANT TO GET OUT !!!

I've never seen as many walkers in my life on the small country roads around me been carting slurry all week you'd pass someone every load normally be lucky to see someone all day the same with cars normally know every one I meet never seen as many strangers

We’ve been plagued with folk all week! Now bare in mind that I live in a small village with less than 100 houses and the average age of the residents will be getting on towards 60-90 years of age. Is it fair on them to have a constant stream of people from out the area not just walking through but turning up in multiple vehicles with kids an dogs! It was bad enough before the lockdown but it’s just ridiculous now! This is also now further restricting the ability of residents to step outside their own door, I don’t think that’s really fair is it?

There has been a constant stream of cars coming and going all day next to the field I’ve been in, people with dogs or going for a picnic with kid’s

Then there’s the ones the just park on the field, and block the foot path as well.

That one's not mine, before anyone tags me.

You can travel a long way in 2 hours. So you are potentially spreading the disease to a different area. Unless of course you mean you should be allowed to walk for 2-4hrs in a loop of the village which again would put you in potential contact with a lot more people than if you had just gone for a 20 minute walk.
Your going against the idea of trying to stop the spread of this virus.

I meant a 2 to 4 hr walk not drive but I could pass 3 times more people in a village in 20 mins than a remote path in 4 hrs , but passing or seeing people does not equal spreading disease only contact brings that risk or at least contact with mucus. obviously that is less likely if you are 2 m apart and less likely again if you ass 4 people as opposed to 10

But it only takes one other person infected with cv19 use the same pedestrian gate as you for it to spread even if your are careful. You've walked for 2 hours and they walked for 2 hours from the other direction. That's a spread from a distance of 4hours walking distance. And how do you know it's a remote path, it seems all paths are busier than usual with the lock down.
