Hi I’m on the look out for a JCB priced at £20,000-£30,000. Minimum 3t 7m machine. It’s for general farm use so want ‘ag spec’ rather than construction spec. Anybody know of anything as I’m not having much look with dealers who only seem to have newer ones at double the money.

Yes that’s one of the machines I’d seen. It’s over priced by £10,000 for its hours and condition. Needs new tyres for starters also. It doesn’t represent good value.
at 7000 hrs it's passed its best i don't know what hours per anum you think you will do but those late models have a reputation for having electrical problems

It might look too expensive but what is the cost of an equivalent new model? All plant and machinery seems expensive to me. The tyres are a reasonably known cost but the rest of the machine and past maintenance will be the key. Would a main dealer with a short warranty be a good option?

I know it’s lacking power, that’s easy balance to agri level.

would the torque converter beidentical to agri spec

drive line could be lighter?

not easy do anything to speed up the construction hydraulics without changing the whole system is it

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
