Water tank for sprayer

Am I mad to think about using my now redundant collecting yard tank for sprayer water. I have 2 tanks of 8,000 gallons made of concrete with slats above and safety manhole. They were obviously used for dirty water/slurry. If I suck them out and refill a few times will it be clean enough for filling the sprayer if I divert the shed rainwater into them. Have a 2inch submersible electric pump.

Sounds ideal, nice soft water.

dirty water can be a problem with some sprays

but if the tank is cleand out and the water left to settle have floating suction pipe so you do not suck out the bottom

soft rain water is much better than the hard water in some areas
