We had a weigh bridge off Parker farms about 10 years ago and every year weightron service it and calibrate it
about a month before it annual service this year in a morning it was reading random weights About a ton
for a few days running so checked under it for mud and stones etc Nothing !

so called them to visit
they came out looked at it and said it’s dirt around load cells “we have cleaned it be fine now £372”

next morning exactly the same Reading about 1 ton so got them back out this time !
“it’s a load cell gone “
they changed it £2455

next day still the same Reading about one ton with nothing on it
called them up again to be told of it’s because it’s not been Calibrated we will send a wagon to calibrate it another £650 pound and week or so wait

morning after calibration still reading about 1 ton When empty getting really pee'd off now so far bills for £4377 and it’s still the same as when I rang them the first time
Ring them again back out it’s “another load cell gone“ apparently bearing in mind since first visit And every other it’s been wrong the next morning
they change another load cell this is now £2200 no idea why less when there all the same this now fixes it perfect now despite no calibration but still have to get it done another £650 And week wait but at least now it’s fixed

They obv change wrong one first off and wouldn’t admit it.
having spoken to another company who maintain bridges was told ”yes 100% correct They change wrong one first ”

I disputed first 3 bills as they did nothing to fix problem and only when they changed correct cell did it fix original problem so payed for second cell and second recalibration

Needless to say they have been nothing but rude and un compromising regarding other invoices and now we are going to court with them
“the consumer rights act 2015 says that services must be provided with reasonable care and skill
In my opinion you did not use reasonable care and skill when you provided this service “

we believe this was the case at all as nothing was achieved to fix problem in first 3 visits and when I do a job wrong I rectified it at my own cost
Has anyone had similar thing happen with said company or does anyone think I’m being unreasonable with them over the matter
thanks in advance Olly

I’ve been here in the past (nothing as ££££ bad though !). We now have some sort of all inclusive annual service contract with them to remove such nasty shocks

Careful - the consumer rights act is more of a thing for business to consumer and not business to business. I'm sure your lawyer knows the specific situation but it might not be the right thing to rely on for a remedy.

I had a similar going on with the aforementioned company. There's 8 cells under our bridge, which at the time was 8yo. Apparently 7 of them needed changing. Nonsense, they don't all fail at once. Similar palava to you, first cell changed didn't cure it, so they had to come back, turned out to be bad connection in the junction box under the bridge. I made them refit my old cell.
They played hardball over the bill too. I can't remember the eventual outcome, think we compromised in some way, but it was a battle.
The buggers don't deserve the business!

I think there use to rocking up at quarry’s and Recyling Centers making big bucks who won’t question the bill as there in a hurry for it to work ASAP all the time I said you sure it’s not junction box as last time it did this 5 years ago it was damp in the box

Weightron Biliancia / Parker Farms are a waste of space. One of the worst companies I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with. In the first 18 months after installation we had multiple issues with the software. Basically it didn’t work as sold to us. Ultimately resulted in taking legal advice. It was at this point they had to listen to us instead of ignoring the issues or fobbing us off. They reluctantly upgraded the software side of things, even trying to get us to contribute for an issue that was entirely their fault.
We then had an extended warranty and when that ran out a fixed price service contract which iirc was £1,250/year which included any repairs, materials and also the annual weighbridge test certificate. Basically full support.
when that ran out they tried to increase it to just over £4,000/year for the same level of cover called ‘Fully Inclusive Cover’ (standard cover £1590, standard plus cover £2100).
They are a bunch of bozo’s and have the worst name in the industry when you start asking around.
So we removed the software side of things and swapped to Trent Scales who’ve put in a new weighbridge terminal, display and printer and we are sorting a link to a PC via a third party at the moment.
Weightron use weighcells they can only supply so if one goes down you have to buy off them. Luckily ours were the older type so will work with any system. These are £350 each not £2500 each like off weightron today.

They got the original siting wrong of the bridge as well. The software writers think they are god and that their systems are infallible when in reality they are useless.

Literally just stay away from this company. They are not fit for purpose.
