Welger 220 blockages in thine

Hi all, out of nowhere yesterday my 220 baler started blocking by the tines.
Some background info: the chain snapped after a small issue, I replaced the link and it was running perfectly. I baled about 4 bales after the chain was fixed, but then all of a sudden the baler started to block around the tines. I kept on freeing the blocked grass but every few meters I would have to stop again and unblock the baler. See the pictures attached for more info. I didnt make any chances to the baler, but once it started blocking I tried lowering & raising the creel, same with the the blades etc, just to see if anything at all would help, but nothing seemed to make a difference.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Only time I have seen material come back over the packer fingers is when a bake stops spinning in the chamber. Once was when the main drive chain broke, or when a straw bale stops spinning.

Ya I just cant seem to figure it out - I've ran the baler with the door open and everything runs as it should. I've even driven it as slow as possible with high revs and it still manages to block up.

Evening but have you have the chain fitted incorrectly and turning a roller/rotor the wrong way? I don't see any knives either, or would the grass be catching in the slots as I know there are blanks for covering them up

The chain is back on the same way, and all the rollers etc are turning the right way. It’s blocking where the packer fingers are rotating, it’s just not throwing the grass back right for some reason, and it just gets blocked around itself

No the grass wasn’t like that, I only ever had cattle in it. It was reseeded 4 years ago but I never had any issues with it in those years, this is the first year I’ve seen his problem.
It is a drop floor alright but the floor was up all the way, it was only dropped after the first blockage to free the baler.

thanks for the comments anyway lads

The chain broke because I didn’t see on the monitor that the bale was full and i overfilled the bale, but the baler worked away perfect after I fixed the chain. I moved into another meadow then and after 3/4 bales the blockages started

Well the reason I asked about the drop floor was in the photo you took it looks open as there appears to be light eg dropped down hence my question. I have been caught out before with it not fully closed it still made bales except they were bigger!

I would double check the chain routing. Should be a sticker on the baler side somewhere

If its blocking in the mouth of the baler it has to be something to do with the bottom roller, if its been overfilled I'm guessing something has bent or moved or if the chain is missing a sprocket. I would switch machine off open back door lock it up and check the rollers, see if any are loose/free wheeling. Anyway its a PITA no doubt let us know.

Apologies for the late response, but for those interested, I figured out how to fix the issue. If you look at the picture at the start of this thread, the plates between the forks were bent into a 'V' shape. When I straightened these plates the issue went, and the baler worked as per normal. - strange one.

Thanks for all the advice
