Well, I've never seen that happen before.

Picked up a perfectly normal triplet tup lamb to ring him this morning.
He was born inside yesterday and been penned with his family since then.

He felt perfectly normal in every way - active, alert, full of milk.

As soon as I slipped the ring off the pliers and round his purse, he just collapsed, like a rag doll.

Pulled the ring off and he came round. Thought to myself "That's a bu66er :scratchhead: " and tried again.

Exactly the same thing happened.

Pulled the ring off again and spent the next five minutes reviving the little chap. I thought he was going to die for a start but he eventually came round.

He's up doodling around with his mates now, sucking and carrying on as though nowt happened .

Ringed both his siblings as normal 🤷‍♂️

I’ve never had that before but had one this year that I was moving by holding him by the back leg so as to tease the ewe with him as she wasn’t following very well, put him on the floor and he was totally floppy, not breathing, proper dead, messed about with him a bit and he came round 🤷‍♂️🤔

I’ve had two with no arseholes this year which is a new one for me. Digestive system worked fine, just skin where there should have been the anus.

I mean I’ve heard the phrase ‘I ripped him a new arsehole’ but I’ve never actually had to do it 😂
Were they both a success?

A vet once told me there's two types of that condition - one that you can make a hole in and one that you can't.

I've had one like that this year, was very odd pulled the ring off and he ran away to find his mum, so I put it back on and he seemed ok, wondered if I'd caught a nerve or a bit of pipework or something

I’ve got a ewe in the killing pen that has no arse hole and craps out it’s no 1!
only ever noticed as happened to see it trying to take a dump one day and thought it was lambing !
I have seen it a few times in a couple of different breeds . If you have to cut a hole it’s as well put to sleep I would say .

We had a Mule like that a good few years ago.
She had a few crops before I noticed it.

Like @kfpben says, you don"t usually make a habit of checking if they've all got one.
