Wouldn’t call 37.5mm a wet May. East Riding
Youve had a nice bit then, you wont be taking any harm?
Ive just looked on our gauge, we're on 82 mm.
Weve a nice bite of grass, a lot farther on than last year.
Weve had a run of very dry mays the last few years.
If it steadies up now we will be doing ok.

I said that to the wife tonight when she came home and the 3yr old was naked. Not unusual. But her bedraggled hair, filthier than normal appearance and
"mummy look at my hand, one of daddy's fugging lambs jumped when he was injecting it and he poked himself in the hand with a needle but it was OK so I tried to whack it and missed and banged my hand but im OK." Draws breath "fugging sheep daddy should shoot it".

I was in my coat and waterproofs roasting but dry, she refused to wear her coat and was prancing about in q t-shirt, pink leggings and bright red patent shoes straight from nursery! She spent too long with me during lockdown and now she likes to swear just occasionally for effect. You can see it in her eyes the little devious spark of the devil when she does it 😂

But yes wet here on and off all afternoon!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
