I know of a man who is clamping silage and loading out of said clamps through the winter and being paid £1/%DM per tonne. So in your case £38/tonne. Going for AD. I'm paid 80p/%DM per tonne out of the field as a standing crop (buyer stands the harvesting costs).
No problem. Just to reiterate in his case he is paying the harvesting/clamping costs and is also responsible for loading the trailers to get the higher price.
Is there much unharvested maize further North due to wet weather? Think I read on the cropping forum that they were struggling to get on field (or perhaps out once in). Probably make no difference to maize price as everyone seems to have had bumper silage crops.
There is quite a bit around here in North Shropshire . Not sure if some might end up in the local digester at some point ,after a good frost or 2 maybe
