Me and son were burning some tree cuttings and driftwood yesterday in a field we own other side of village, we couldn’t burn them before as been too wet and we have had to wait until a north wind as row of thatched cottages 50m away, so had a burn up all good but as we were leaving met plod on the road coming the other way all lights blazing, thinking someone had reported us as no one else about in village but they didn’t come after us. Just wanted to have my reasons ready as we’re going back today to clear up
How do you know it was a waste of police time/funds!Complete misuse of police time/ funds.
Not yet illegal in this country to have a bonfire on your own land.
All jobs on farm/ off lying land need to be done as and when.
Fencing/ drainage/ building work etc will come to a halt for 6+ months anyway as you wont be able to get the supplies.
I dont believe Boris actually said only "key" or "essential" workers are the only ones allowed to go to work. He said only if it was "absolutely necessary" that you had to travel to work (and couldn't work from home).
Still confusion on this and even local radio, when blathering on about travel, talk about only "key" workers on going to work.
The argument for the 80% funding was to keep money moving in the economy, yet (tin hat on) people are downing tools when can work.
My Auntie in law was proud of me and miss Zippy for the essential work we are doing to keep the country going - and anybody not doing essential work should not work. Miss Zippy is NHS analyst, always works from home, until last Wednesday was not on the Corvid 19 stuff. Auntie felt that if she wasnt on the virus stuff then she shouldnt even be working ?, despite working from home.
I am afraid all too many people will have that attitude

Read the post you’ve quoted again, they weren’t after onthehoof, he just thought they might have been.
You don’t read them do you?Starts to make some of GUTH’s other comments easier to understand,
Yes and that is why there is one hell of a problem brewing with supplies in 3/4 weeks time to vital sectors.
Problem is the government are telling everyone not to travel/ some police are behaving like little hitlers sending people home even when they are only out doing what they are allowed to do/ fining people when they shouldn't be/ closing down businesses like car parts company's that most people have got so fed up they just think sod it, I will stop work as well.
Even meat packing lines etc have had enough and are shutting down because the rules the gov have implemented on them are unworkable.
One hell of a problem ref supplies coming down the road if the gov don't change the rules and make these company's start up again but even if they do will they even be able to get their supplies?
No. You can go to work if you are unable to do the work from home. But you must be in a position to respect the 2 metre rule.1) you must not go to work if you can work from home
2) you can go to work if your work is a key industry, or an industry that supplies a key industry, or an industry that supplies an industry that supplies a key industry!
My day job is a key industry, supplying components to the medical industry. But we need our suppliers to keep supplying us so we can supply or customer to supply hospitals ! if they stop , we stop!
yes that's as read, you must (where ever possible) keep 2m distance and comply with other guidance issuedNo. You can go to work if you are unable to do the work from home. But you must be in a position to respect the 2 metre rule.
