What can a 300cc quad tow

sounds strange but some of the higher cc bikes can't tow alot more than a 300 just too much power and not alot more weight in them
depends on hills etc and how much you are going to be using it for towing
many moons ago all we used were 300-400 cc bikes 2-3 sheep no worry
rear diff's can play up if over loaded all the time but in most cases they have been towing big loads

Hi I am wondering what trailer size I should get for towing sheep with a 300cc quad
We use an RTV now, but when we had a quad we would put 2-3 sows, or 5 gilts (130 kg each) or maybe 80-100 7kg weaners in our home designed pig trailer. Traction was often an issue, but nothing broke.

Still have the same quad: 1980-something Honda TRX350D. Only on light duties now, but by f**k has it done some work over the years.

The trailer is probably 7' by 5'.

i had a 350 from 1986, never had a bike with as much weight and nothing to touch it since, we have hills here. often pull started the 135 with it and in snow pulled the berlingo van up our lane then went back for the trailer, the 300 that followed it and current 350 are really lacking the weight.

And don't you know it when you're pulling on the bars!

Helluva machine. Will be very sad when it finally croaks. But then I'm 35, and it's from the big H's golden age, so I expect it'll still be chugging away when I'm not.

Every make & model would have different abilities, regardless of engine size.
Is there a label on it somewhere, or in a manual somewhere? It should be on there for H&S reasons iirc, but the stickers never last long of course.

What ever it says on that label will be what the manufacturer’s max recc weight is. Double that and it’ll be about what she’ll tow.🤐

Well now you’ve opened a can of worms...

Which colour baker was it made with? Was it made too wet? And which way is it stacked on the trailer?🤐
The only constraint I have found is the strength required to roll the thing off, which is helped by putting the bale on end.

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
