What chainsaw

In need of a new chainsaw. Will be used for general farm and firewood duties. Have an older husqvarna which has always been a good saw but is getting a bit tired and pushing it a bit so probably need something a bit bigger. Seems a lot to choose from so just wondering what everyone else is using. Looking for 18-20inch bar. Thanks

I'd go husky 550 mk2, but your asking a lot to run a 20 inch bar on a 50cc saw.
I'd have a 15inch bar and swap to 18 for occasional use. I sell and cut a lot of firewood and power to weight its an awesome bit of kit.

I also own a stihl 261 same size saw, but prefer the husky although its slightly heavier husky is also lighter on fuel

Whoever is the dealer closest and able to repair and keep parts of the saw that you have purchased from them. Simples.
TBH there is so very little between the main manufacturers in todays highly competitive market.
I had some fun building up an older Stihl 361 from a selection of new and SH parts and enjoyed the basic tune up one can do with limited tools.
I’m sure the same could be said for Huskies.

I run a Hyundai 62cc 20 inch chainsaw and it is pretty good. Easy to start and plenty of power. If you are using a chainsaw for long periods of time on a regular basis I would go for a Stihl or Husky because they are more refined. But for £104 +VAT the Hyundai is hard to beat.

Yes I've had one of these for about 3 or 4 years now as a general farm saw, and I can't fault it, and at the price you can get one for at the moment (about £125-130 incl VAT) its a no brainer.
