The ONLY. thing that will deter thieves is a much greater likelihood of the consequences of being apprehended being worse than the rewards of getting away with it.

or the red laser pointerI'd prefer a scope mounted lamp, for that split second of fear before pulling the trigger!
That only works if there is 2 of them,or the red laser pointer
Can you buy tear gas grenades online?
Heard something on radio where they were interviewing thieves in a prison, asking "what would have deterred you? " They all said the same thing - nothing else except dogs. We've got CCTV and dawn to dusk sodium lights in our yard but from observing camera evidence of unwelcome night time visiters, they don't seem to be in the slightest bit bothered about strolling around the yard without much of a care in the world, however it's interesting that they try very hard to not make a noise.
Do alarms do any good? Wondering if a ring beam around the entire yard set at about 5 foot off the floor that set off an alarm would do any good? Anyone got such a system? Any recommendations?
