Tried to attach an excel xlsx file and been refused

They are a great way to injected virus etc to users PCs when they download them so we don't allow them
you can attach image files in most formats and PDF’s safely

You can therefore take a screenshot of a spreadsheet and attach it. Or you could share a google sheet (similar to spreadsheet).

This thread is a worthwhile reminder for people who may not know but people must be very very wary of opening excel files that have an unknown or dubious source due to them being a useful vehicle for people trying to pass malware to other PCs. Do not run or click any such file attachment unless you are 100% sure of it's origin. If in doubt, direct the file to an online (free) virus checker scan.
