Three sections of overnight closures on the Welsh section of the M4. After 450 miles driving around Kent and Essex in the heat to then get stuck less than 100 miles from home was not fun.
Oh dear! Where were they, I will be travelling from Carmarthen on May the 6th,and dont want to have a tour of Newport like I had last year!

They all start at about 8pm.

First one was Magor at 23a to 24 (the Coldra) but I stayed off until 28 at Tredegar to avoid the tunnels. I believe that finishes this weekend.

Then it was 37 to 38 around Port Talbot, that was the worst as it diverted us through Pyle which couldn't cope. I think that one is done but they are moving west bound each night I think.

Finally it was 44 to 46 at Swansea which again is due to finish this weekend.

I had something similar when I arrived at Birmingham airport in late Jan around 22:30 wanting to get home and the muppets had closed the M42, M69 and the M1 all on the same night

Wales and roadworks. Is there a grant available to dig up and backfill a section of road for no apparent reason ? Must have stopped at dozens of traffic lights today coming back from the Welsh coast. Friday afternoon and a lot were unmanned, were they getting ready for next week, or had finished work and gone off to the pub before taking the lights down at 6pm to claim overtime ?

It's all to do with tourism. We get nothing done over the summer and Autumn and then they all go into Hi Gear through the crap weather in the winter and then have to redo it in the spring to make everything nice and tidy for the tourists

I should be ok then, thanks. Up to Hereford tomorrow, then Pwllheli Tuesday, and down to Carmarthen on May 3rd, back to Bath on the 6th.

The hard drive has failed on our iMac :dead:

I wouldn't mind so much but it's only 9 years old (although it is hardly ever switched off)

Mines a 27" i7 2010 model. I have the bits to add a second drive (ssd) to mine. Will hack it to run the 2 drives as a fusion drive when I get the courage to pull it apart.
Update today: The new Hard Drive arrived Wednesday and I got around to fitting it this afternoon (about 30 minutes - not bad to do) then restoring the system (3 hours) and we are away again (y)

Total cost £61.27 + VAT (upgrading to 2Tb storage in the process) (y)

Some local bell end in a Ford Focus acting like a self appointed road vigilante. Brake checked me with loaded trailer few months ago after he overtook. Today, escorting drill same car on opposite side of road swerves at both my truck and following machines, lights flashing, horn blaring and various extravagant hand gestures out the window. Dunno what his problem is.

@melted welly Never mind knowing what his problem is - do you know what his number plate is. A name and shame if ever there was :)
