Had a letter from HSBC yesterday,in fact 2 about online survey for business banking that must be done within 84 days otherwise they will close your account.i was annoyed to be ordered to do this before I started.every question made me more and more annoyed and it’s totall irrelevant to me.when did I start my business, did I borrow the money from, and there is a list of every country in the world.how much and it goes on and on and on.took 35 minutes and I was livid when I’d finished it so called them to tell them.gave All security details and spoke to bank then get passed to business part and all security stuff again.just gave it all to your colleague I said.after the man had listen to my complaints he said you need to speak to another dept but they don’t start to 9.it was ten to 9 at this stage.i gave up as a bad job and told them if I got anything like this again they could stick their account up their arses.ive never borrowed any money from them and they hold all my accounts too.im not aviva or British steel either.fkuc you HSBC.

My Mother had similar a couple of years ago. Rang them and said not possible for her to do it, she has banked with you for 60 years....what could they possibly need to know. They said she had to do it, so I passed it to her accountants to do. They closed her account anyway, out the blue with no warning.
This was also HSBC. Made me fuming.

I was fuming and let them know it.my mum who does all the farm paperwork would not have a clue but won’t do online banking anyway.if she gets a letter I’m sure sparks will fly.my main builder customer had one a month ago and has to beginning of August to complete it.he has had a letter saying they are going to close his account.think he will move to another bank.sure this is being done so our spineless government can track everything

Why is everybody part of a " crack " team these days ?
A crack team of IT consultants.
A crack team of gardeners.
A crack team of wallpaperers.

" In 1972, a crack team of wallpaperers was sent to prison for a crime they did not commit. These wallpaperers promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground........":ROFLMAO:

Just give silly answers to any survey you don't want to do. Should have said your startup finance was a gift from a lover etc.

Had the same one in August last year...HSBC Safeguard. It was about 8 pages long! You have my sympathies.

Heard of this locally recently, they just end up closing long standing good credit accounts. Change now or await my fate..?

Don't get me started on HSBC. They way they are acting I am sure they doing their best to try to get rid of us. We went through the safeguarding shenanigans, yet it's still impossible to do anything over the phone as the security passwords etc won't work. Our accountant knows of other longstanding reputable businesses who have had their accounts closed due to this safeguarding fiasco. Also been trying to sort things out as my father passed away. All they seem to want to do is close our business account, despite 3 partners who are surviving joint holders continuing the business. We will be going elsewhere. Had enough of them. All they ever do is throw up obstacles and create new problems for us. Utterly useless and unhelpful IMO. And we have never borrowed any money from them either thank God.

Had to prove my ID for an HSBC personal account some years ago even though I'd banked with them for years, didn't have an overdraft etc. Rang them up and complained, apparently I was such a long serving customer I'd had slipped through their security net, but the forms, utility statements, countersignatures from a doctor. solicitor still needed to be completed. Now a week before I'd received a letter from their new CEO saying how well the bank was doing, how happy the staff were to be doing business with me, what a jolly fine person I was....Obviously thousands of other customers received these, but I mentioned I would be contacting Bernie, or whatever his name was personally to complain whilst throwing their form in the bin. After a couple of seconds silence they came back and said if I didn't return the form they would still be delighted to have me as their customer but would limit cash withdrawals to £50 a day.
Off to the doctors to ask if they could sign it. I'd have to see the doctor,I could be a fake Paddington, money laundering etc.OK asked for an appointment, would have to wait a week, oh, and there'd be a charge of £35.
A neighbour who is a JP signed it for a box of eggs, she'd done a dozen similar forms that week.
