Forecast said rain by lunchtime so took the Mrs out. No rain all day so could have done some harvesting. Mother of all thunderstorms brewing now.
Forecast isn't worth looking at these days. Probably rain all the working week now my winter wheat and spring barley are suddenly, ready simultaneously due to the extreme heat we have had.

What happened to normal harvests?

Exackly what i thought. All i can think is a stone has somehow gone under the tractor and bounced off the tyre or axell. I expect so and has my pride more as i have only broke a wing mirror in the last 10 years
I have had one do exactly that, I watched it bouncing off the front tyre and into the screen, my boss at the time was very angry with me which I considered then as now, totally unreasonable.

Luckily nobody was angry with me. More a case of how did you manage that as they were as surprised as me. Hopefully will not happen again as got a front window guard to have on aswel as the rear

What would 12 hurdles and a small race cost if there wasn’t a grant scheme

Because I don’t think it would be over £3500

Keyless car. What is the need. It makes the key forgettable, no designated place for the key which means it gets lost in among the rangem of a farm vehicle.
I left the key in my tractor last night night, jumped in the pickup this morning thinking the key was in my pocket and went to check the sheep on the way to work, went round the sheep then the pickup wouldn’t start “no key” spend a good 40 mins looking for the key in the pickup, in the field, no luck, had to get someone to bring the spare key.
What use is a key thats a good 30 yards from the vehicle let’s the vehicle start and drive 3 miles away with no key! Then sometimes the key can be in my pocket yet it can sometimes say “no key”
WHY

There’s something wrong if the vehicle will start with the key 30yds away.
Does it not tell you on the dash when your driving, that there’s no key present?

I have one vehicle with the keyless system, and tbh I think it’s brilliant. No idea how secure the whole system is, as you do hear of criminals fooling these things, but to use, I think it’s mustard.

It doesn’t suit us fencing, they key has to be left in the vehicle all the time so it can be moved by anyone but I regularly forget I have it and bugger off to the other end of the field leaving someone stranded and having to walk for it, or they start the pickup with me in close proximity with the key in my pocket then they go so far then it needs the key! Because this happens a lot I then end up leaving the key in it when I’m in town or out somewhere as it’s a force of habit.
We used to leave the key in a hiding place on the old pickup if needs be but with the keyless thing it’s pointless, the key can be hidden on the vehicle but still opened and driven away.
We started leaving the key in the handle in the door but it was once knocked out and run over and lost for an hour. STUPID FECKING THING
We never had this problem when it was a normal key, but we did wear out the old key with all the stopping and starting

I can totally understand your frustration, but I am sure that half of these problems wouldn’t occur with the system I’ve got. What vehicle is it? Mines on a NP300, and it will NOT lock the doors if the key is inside it, and it will NOT start the engine if the key is not inside it. Yes, you could start it and walk off with the key, but it tells the driver immediately that the key is not present. I like it, but perhaps it wouldn’t be so convenient with several people moving it around all day like you have. But the key can happily be left in the car and moved as you wish, and cannot be locked it.
