I really should just turn off the radio during the Jeremy Whine programme ........

But did anyone else catch him reading out "listener" emails suggesting that the cull pigs should be either released in to the New Forest "as there are already pigs there" or given away to households as pets.

Why is he allowed to read out this stuff?

What a time to be alive.
I tend not to listen to him IMO he is close behind Packham in the idiot stakes i just wish they would shut up and just play music

The Tonight Programme on ITV right now! Started 7.30pm.

ETA: having watched it all, it really needs calling out on all the flaws and misinformation about carbon footprints of dairy and red meat. Berners-Lee hasn't amended anything in his parcel of pat explanations, and I'm not convinced that Deborah Meadon and Jonathan Maitland haven't been got at.

How Green are Journalists, "Dragons", and Supermarket Customers would be a better title.

I received a survey on introducing beavers around Shrewsbury from Shropshire Wildlife Trust. I initially assumed they wanted peoples views on the introduction of beavers, but like many Defra surveys, it was a fait accompli, the beavers are coming. One question asked if I was happy or concerned, followed by a tiny space to put a comment. Beavers are very good at stopping the spread of trees apparently (by killing them), reducing flooding (where do the dead trees end up ?) and are vegetarians, so must be good chaps They will not be fenced in like nature reserves but will allowed to wander through the borderless green carpet of Shropshire. You will be allowed to see them if you fill in the direct debit form included.

Bicycle road races.
Who thought it a good idea to close various quite major roads in my locality to allow Lycra clad incomers to ride bikes round the area. Stuck behind several with the beet carts. Traffic jams even worse in town with all the support vehicles and paraphernalia. Now it looks like top end of Lincoln closed off for the weekend. Is it really worth it? Is this what the U.K. economy now relies on? Watching folk ride bikes.

Had to read this twice before realizing it was about BEAVER and not a womens liberation group wanting to ban razors.

People who have an electric car to help save the planet BUT drive to an airport and get on a long haul flight (which burns many tonnes of fuel) to fly to an exotic holiday location :banghead:
The fuel burnt by the aircraft is helping warm the atmosphere, and the exotic holiday location they are going to has more than lightly destroyed some of the areas environment.
So does having the electric car clear their consciences.???;)

The weekend, when those not directly involved with the farming get bored with no meetings or webinars to attend and it seems to become playtime for elderly farmers and telehandlers

one of the favourite games being - “Try and guess what the feck I’m doing today”.

“I see the hydraulic coupling on the headstock’s broken again”

🤔………you mean YOU’VE broken it…..again

“well, humph….. how,,,,,,Idon’t know how youre expected to pick up the tines, bag lifter, bucket, some pallets and a tattie box all at once without knocking it off”

🤦‍♂️

And why the hell is the only bucket with “grain only” written on it the go to option for road grading, composting operations, digging drains and scraping the yard? Always too busy to wash it when finished too 😤

Union County, NC - On April 3, pit bull-mix violently attacked a draft horse pulling a carriage in Cane Creek Park as children screamed in the background. The carriage driver, Amanda Underwood, was seriously injured while trying to fend off the attack. The draft horse, Queen Charlotte, was also badly injured by the dog. A cell phone video captured part of the attack, where one sees the dog repeatedly attacking the horse, until Queen Charlotte delivers a ruinous kick.

After the attack, Amanda's brother spoke to Fox 46. "It was bad. I mean it was horrific," said Travis Medlin. "The dog jumped up an actually latched onto the horse's throat ... the horse trampled my sister four different times throughout that event. Each time, she just came back and continued to fight the dog, was trying to save the horse." She suffered multiple head wounds and a broken foot that will require surgery, Medlin said. Hospital bills are expected to cost at least $25,000.

"My sister is the blonde in the red shirt. This video only captures the end of what happened. The attack lasted a distance of 200 yards. My sister was driving the carriage when the pit attacked and latched onto the horse's neck. She handed the reins to her assistant and jumped down and threw the dog off. This repeated many times. My sister fought with the dog under the horse and in the process was trampled by the horse 4 different times. She went to the hospital and has 4 hematomas on her head from being kicked by the horse. Had to have the back of her head staples, a broken foot, horse shoe shaped bruises all over, swollen knee that will need an MRI and is so sore she cant get out of bed. With all that, you see her still standing by the horse at the end of the attack like the bad ass she is. If not for her actions things would have turned out much worse for everyone involved.
As for the horse, it has 15 bite wounds on its neck and legs, multiple bites to its face and its lips were shredded, but it's doing ok.
The dog was put down by the vet due to its injuries."

Good thing that lad in the hat deployed his life jacket.
