I second all that he said about Canadian hospitality . Generally speaking it has to be experienced to appreciate it fully .That sounds very unusual for Canadian hospitality, I was staying up in the interlake area.
Any host in my experience would be most offended if I hadn't at least doubled my weight before I left their house!
I remember going to a "small family barbecue " there was enough food laid out to feed all of Somerset, and still the host was worried that there was not enough!
As a sweeping generalisation, the Canadians are the most generous, hospitable, and warm hearted people I have ever met.
