It's undoubtedly a crisis but the problem is there is a lack of places to move the recuperating, terminally ill, or frail elderly people out to from the hospital. During recent experience of hospital it was plain that half the people there could have been cared for in residential homes with a lower level of care intensity and expense, than was needed in hospital, freeing up beds for those in need of urgent surgery.

It's social care that's in crisis, but the patients are backing up into hospitals. Also, relatives are no longer interested in taking in elderly relatives. They expect somebody else to look after them, somebody else being the taxpayer. That's what has changed.

The latest PIPAH study which I am about to tackle. How many hours did you spend handling each of a whole list of active ingredients?

You have got to be joking. And by the time I have died of something it will be too late anyway and the active will have been withdrawn so what does it matter? Another example of "keeping people busy".

That's it, I'm done this weekend. Better stop moaning and complaining.

The police, have you nothing better to do than send a traffic cop on a motor bike to the middle of Exmoor to speed check at the bottom of a long straight hill which becomes a forty half way down. We were doing 45ish:whistle: when we saw him:mad:.

Had to laugh a bit later got held up by one of the local hunts when a mate pulled up behind us, he jumped out, " did you get caught ? I was on me phone as well:LOL:"

Come on plod where are you when the quad bikes are going missing and our workshops are being done over? Etc.

Prosecuting us working folk cause we're a soft touch.
I had a bit of respect for you none now!

Here's another one a local contractor was followed home by a squad car the other evening plod pulled into his yard and fined him £50 for a cracked lenses on his hedge trimmer!
Now this contractor farms on a steep bend were there are several accidents a year, contractor says don't bother asking me to pull out cars etc next time there's a crash, now sod off. ( polite version from what I was told).
Rant over, and relax.:censored:

Hearing that a neighbour who has put up a huge shed on 1,8 acres has got retrospective planning, as there was planning 28 years ago in a different area for a barn when it was a 90 acre farm! So there you go, all in Ceredigion - ever had planning and not gone with it? You now have permission!
No, the barn does not bother me, I just hate liars and cheating.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
