some of the pics are a bit rough
any ideas on whats going on with this liver
older ewe born 2010
looked like a blow out in guts so culled when opening up gut area full of fluid
no outer body fat some around gut area
once had the motor out found the liver hard and very strange never seen it like this before any ideas
liver was hard and when cutting open the fatty looking parts were solid not weepy like pus etc
sent pic to my vet as well he was a meat inspector so will find out
but there is a 1/2 eaten chocolate fish for the right answers.

Hepatic tumors?
Within weeks, I would think 🤔

I remember doing a PM on one of the cows who dropped dead one fine spring day, half her liver was about the stage of the one OP and the thin end had already gone into tumours and begun to shrivel up 😔

a bit like leaving an unwrapped salami in the fridge, it was hard as could be and almost "dried" looking

this is hard cutting quite dryish to handle
never seen it before and did kill 100's a week doing pet food years ago soon as seen it thought ummm this is realy not right was going to dump it but thought no take picks and talk to vet incase there is something that leads to this happening like a vit or min shortfall that could. be showing up probs in flock

in what way copper too high ??? some of the ewes are quite high in copper
that's what I wondered, but looking at images of copper toxicity, the liver (and the rest of the flipping animal) goes yellow. Nothing like this, and you'd notice if the carcase was yellow!
