This small accumulator type thing (not sure what it exactly) has split and is hosing out oil when any spool is activated. Can I blank it off for now and expect it to still work?

I think but don’t take my word that it’sa steering damper thing. It takes the vibration out of the steering hydraulics so you don’t feel anything in steering wheel.
They are well known for cracking but weld up ok.
Assuming that’s what it is
